My CV

I started out writing for animal magazines including Your Dog, Dogs Today, Your Cat, Everything About Dogs, Everything About Cats, Everything About Dogs, Cat magazine - lobbying against pet quarantine, contributing fact-based articles, personal experience pieces, humour and columns to all sorts of publications.  You can read some of these articles in the archive section of this site.

I moved on to writing about parenting and family issues, contributing to the FT and the Sunday Times, as well as to Parent magazine, Mother and Child, etc.

I then did a three year stint in Brussels staffing for a press agency and reporting on social issues within the EU. I also continued writing freelance pieces for newsweekly magazines and newspapers on various subjects: Belgian police dogs, bar reviews, films, horses in the army ...

Freelancing full time again, I’ve contributed to BBC Online, GuardianAbroad and Channel 4 as well as writing columns and articles for titles including The Herald, A Place in the Sun's "everything France", France Magazine and Destination France.  I write the backpage column “The Dernier Mot” for Living France, a monthly column “The Secret Cevennes” for The Languedoc Page website, and review films for Spinning Image.

I have written two novels, “I Married a Pirate” and “Blanche in Love” and am currently working on “In the Dog House”.

I live with my family and a menagerie of animals in France.
