Possibly one of the most perfect films ever made. It bubbles along like a champagne river flashing over rocks and gurgling with laughter all the way to the sea. Extra points for the jokes, frocks, cartloads of fabulous Brit actor-luvvies and a script to die for. If you've never seen it, I envy the treat you have in store. If only it had a romantically happy ending (which it could never have had - I do see that) it would be up there with Some Like It Hot which is as we all know the best film ever made. |
